Meet the Management Team
Dr. Ross Cushing
Ross Cushing, Au.D. is the Chief Executive Officer at Live Better Hearing + Balance. His primary responsibility is to keep the practice focused on what’s important: a positive and effective patient experience. This means ensuring that the administrative and clinical team members have access to the tools they need to provide the best patient outcomes – it also means that the team members have a supportive environment in which to work, and educational opportunities to stay on the cutting-edge.
With over 15 years of experience as an audiologist and as a manger and officer of the company, Dr. Cushing believes that it is only through a combination of kindness and competency that we can achieve success with our practice and our patients.
In his spare time, Dr. Cushing enjoys spending time with his family, honing his novice chess skills, listening to classical music, watching comedy, and exercising.
Chief Operating Officer
Matthew Higgins serves as Live Better Hearing’s Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and general management of the company, including oversight of the patient experience and business operations. As one of the architects of the company’s guiding principles, Mr. Higgins seeks to ensure that Live Better Hearing continues to maintain its core purpose of enhancing the lives of its patients, employees, and the communities in which it does business. In short, he ensures the company remains focused on helping people live better lives.
Prior to joining Live Better Hearing, Mr. Higgins had over 15 years’ progressive leadership experience including sales, marketing, operations, and financial management roles. Most recently, he spent the past decade working for a global biotechnology firm, which is considered by many industry organizations to be the world’s leader in customer care. In his spare time, Mr. Higgins enjoys spending time with his family and finishing up his MBA at William & Mary.
Patient Care Manager
Greg Maffett is the Patient Care Manager for Live Better Hearing. Greg has an extensive background in customer relations and audiology practice operations. As the Patient Care Manager, Greg is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our patients, supporting and developing employees, and being the recognized leader in providing the very best patient experience. Encouragement, motivation, and coaching are the key components Greg relies on to meet these objectives and to be an effective leader.
In his personal life, Greg has a passion to serve his community through various platforms. He truly has a heart to help people and leave a laugh and a smile on everyone’s face.
Lauren Bradshaw is the Practice Administrator for Live Better Hearing + Balance. She manages the day-to-day administrative duties of the company including credentialing & billing support, patient database management compliance, protocol and systems compliance, and employee administrative support. Lauren has a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her family, playing softball and volleyball, cooking pastries, and doing crafts.
Dr. Jenifer Cushing
Dr. Cushing is Live Better Hearing + Balance’s Chief Philanthropic Officer and president of the Live Better Foundation, a 501c3 organization committed to helping improve the lives of those with hearing loss though educational, healthcare, lifestyle, and cultural programs. Dr. Cushing is also a full-time audiologist in our Frederick office. Dr. Jenifer Cushing is a well-published author on many peer reviewed studies from when she was studying at the University at Buffalo, and she is Live Better Hearing’s resident consultant for all diagnostic protocols.
Dr. Cushing’s commitment is not only to the community, but to each patient she sees, from infants to centenarians, and those who seek help with hearing or balance needs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and listening to podcasts on wellness.
